| Since 2 months I guess... I own a Canon EOS. My first DSLR (and SLR as a matter of fact). It's a Canon EOS 350D. I bought it with kit lens: EF-S 18-55mm f3.5-5.6 zoom lens and then I got myself an EF 50mm f1.8 prime lens. I have to say I love this piece of work. I always loved photography, it's a sad thing I don't have anyone to turn to or learn from. You may go to Photographic inEXPERIENCE to follow my journey into photography. ... And the thing I'm writing on right now it's a masterpiece too, it's a Lenovo ThinkPad T60 (IBM). I hope I can afford this piece of jewlery soon. Cheers! ;) |

[ can't get a grip ] Posted on: Sun, 07th January, 2007 @ 11:59 AM by gerdez |
| It has been more than a half year since I updated my sort-of blog site, dtbsz asked a few days ago, when will I clean the dust from it. Well, I got caught up in so many things lately, that I barely have time for myself. It's not a bad thing, because money flows IN, and it's OK. I got hired at a computer firm, it eats up most of my time. Beside that, I got commission to design a website, www.eurovenus.ro. I worked many hours on this one, but I am very proud of the outcome. In August, with my dear Ligia, we began to build our house, it's a brain-killing and energy-soaking task, many said to forget about it. But if I don't start now, then when? Never will I have the money to finish it at once. As a chinese proverb says: Even the one billion steps road starts with the first step. Then, in December we moved to a rent-apartment, from the LAMALAND I grew up in. It hurted as hell, memories, my room, mom & sis arguing, but hey... what can you do... life has it's way. The new LAMALAND2 is great too. Slowly I'm getting familiar here too. + that we have a lot of independence! That's it for now, take care! Going to play StarCraft on B.NET, finally I own this game, 4 real!!! Warcrfat III is on the way + I own Diablo2: LOD. As DTBSZ says, collection items. Cheers! |

[ a new adventure - welcome to linux ] Posted on: Thu, 15th June, 2006 @ 10:46 AM by gerdez |
As romanian police threatens to lift your WHOLE PC box for illegal software, I thought this would be a nice time to try to switch to linux. As a result I downloaded Ubuntu linux, the Dapper Drake release. They advertise it like The linux for human beings. They even had a live CD. I made a 10 GB partition for linux in the end. God, was I amazed by it. This stuff is unbelievable. To tell you the truth, I was afraid of linux, because of the terminal / console stuff. But it's not voodoo in any way. You just have to get the feel of it, reading informational material. Then it works like a charm. I can install absolutely anything with only one command - and the software is downloaded and installed, with shortcuts and all that.Right now I'm using linux to make this news update, I haven't started Windows for almost 6 days now - only on rare occasions to play and do some work I had to finish. And I don't miss Windows in any way. I only miss my WINAMP ;). Linux amazes me every day, as I discover new and new stuff about it. It's highly customizable, you have the feeling that this stuff just works. And almost everything you might need, the themes, the media software, the internet utils it's all there by default. Panel customization with applets, rocks! Everything is smooth. And, you know, when using software it always feel like it's from users to users, not form money makers to suckers - everytime I use a software I'm like "Oh, they thought of that too?!!??". You should give it a try! gerdez@goliath:~$ exit. |

[ new Slayer album to arrive on 25th of July ] Posted on: Wed, 07th June, 2006 @ 11:58 AM by gerdez |
As many of you may know, I am a big Slayer fan. Their new release will surface on 25th of July, 2006 at American Recordings; it will feature 11 brand new tracks, with titles like Cult, Jihad, Catalyst, Eyes of the Insane and so on. In fact, as of yesterday, 6th of June (6/6/06 hihi - wtf, shit like this sells), the full song Cult can be heard at slayer.net. I'm very happy about Lombardo playing again with Slayer, after Grip INC, Phantomas, John Zorn and so on. I liked Bostaph too, but as you will hear Cult, you will agree with me that the REAL Slayer is: Tom, Jeff, Kerry and Dave ... Dave is kicking ass - at least on this new track - just listen to the drums. Also, a new EP was released yesterday, called Eternal Pyre.Of course, as much as I like Slayer, I can't agree with most of their lyrics, this christianity bashing is getting old in my opinion. Chritianity, Jesus Christ is something more deep and hidden then they depict it in their lyrics. And then this fucking dumbass kids (the so called slaytanic wehrmacht) come and they repeat over and over "Fuck the church, piss on the Bible" and that sort of things. How pathetic. Get a life!!! All this black-bloody satanic bullshit is just an image, a footprint, a sell tag and nowadays a trend, unfortunatelly. Open your eyes! ("But at the end of the day, people realize it's just entertainment. I mean, we are Slayer. It's not like we're gonna go write about what a nice day it is." - Hanneman) So, stay tuned for the new Slayer. I hope they'll visit this fuckedup part of Europe? on their November tour. Interviews with Slayer can be read at: Kerry @ KNAC Tom @ KNAK Peace! |

[ Information should be FREE for anyone! ] Posted on: Thu, 01st June, 2006 @ 03:23 PM by gerdez |
| "When society sends the police on it's youths because they listen to music and watches film, then it is not the youth who are misbehaving. Then it is society that needs to get a grip." - Rickard Falkvinge, leader of the Pirate Party (Sweden) while commenting on ThePirateBay.org website shutdown and police seizuring of computers and other property of PirateBay. So I ask the question: What the fuck is this world coming to? What about terrorists, about hunger, about powerty, about corruption and so on? What the fuck? This is our society's priority? To persecute teenagers for not paying for music and calling them thieves? A dumbass prosecutor here in Romania is tearing down private home doors, sealing whole computers (not just HDD's) and taking teenagers in custody (facing 10-20 years of jail? like murderers?!?) more info-> Please, please some wiseass please tell me how can I buy all the stuff that I need, if an average monthly wage here in Romania is 100$??? Oh, so if I'm poor i can go fuckmyself because i don't add anything to Billys' 52Billion$ account??? I am a thief because I want to get information, to learn? And again some mutherfuckin idiot please tell me FROM WHERE can i buy the music I want, because our music-store here sells at most 50-75 titles and that's all garbage, and that is so expensive that it's almost a quarter of a wage? And you will go... from the internet, of course, but how can i afford a 20$ CD + 10$ bank-fee for 10 minutes of quality music, maybe??? It's 30$ for God's sake, it's 1/3 of an average sallary here! Oh, if I'm so poor, probably I shouldn't listen to music or what? But this is not discrimination? Well fuck you all! If the need of information is theft and information wasn't supposed to be free for anyone, fuck you all!!! I bet Einstein while developing the theory of relativity thought... oh God, I'm gonna get rich, oh, and how rich I'm gonna get. Or Archimedes, or Newton, or you name it. You mother fuckers. note: Today is Sunday, 4th of June, and thePirateBay is back online. OMG, they surely don't give a flying fuck about bullywood. |

[ the news update ] Posted on: Fri, 07th April, 2006 @ 07:14 PM by gerdez |
| Hya 'allaya! I promised a news update, a long time ago, somehow I never got to do it. I keep this kinda-blog site primarly for myself, it's so cool to review this notes years later. The most important thing that happened to me last year, in August, was that I got married. Well, everybody was saying that is BS and it's bad and stuff; I don't know, it must be that I have chosen the right way or I'm just plain stupid, but so far, so good. The worst thing that happened was that suddenly all my friends (partying buddies) seemed to avoid me, like I had some sort of a plague or something. At first I thought it was because the fact I "imprinsoned" myself, but as time went on, I realized, that even if I'm the one who got married, they grew old or what the f@k, because I have to do convincing work and stuff to get them out of the house. WTF is up guys? Another important thing that is worth to mention, is that we began building "our" house. For now, it's only paperwork and money.money.money, but I hope next month will lay some bricks too. Oh, and we bought a "car" (woot), cash-money. :)) It's not much, but it serves us well, so far. You can't do all the stuff at one time, standing on your own feet. Nowadys, when I have some speare time I play CS:S like crazy, or the little fukdindahead kid in me plays it, I can't decide :)). Oh, and I'm doing software/hardware debuging and stuff for friends fa'3, 'cause I'm such an asshole. And they don't even bring me a fuckin' beer. Well, listen up (you know who you are)! NO MORE FREE SERVICES! I'll charge a pack of cigs and 2 beers/hour. Hah, it's not so funny anymore, heh? But, WTF I pay everybody for anything they do for me, why shouldn't I charge something, right? OK, enough of this, have phun and take care. |

| Hi to you all! I just launched my freelancer page, well sort of. You can check it out here. I have some other things on my mind at the moment, but I had to do this, I bought the domain almost a year ago, and never managed to wrap up a site for it. It's in romanian, because that's my primary target "market". But i'm planing on making a hungarian and an english version of it, soon. |

[ new photo xperience ] Posted on: Sat, 07th January, 2006 @ 02:59 PM by gerdez |
| Yes, it arrived @ Xmas: my Panasonic FZ20. I had a lot of convincing to do, it left my pockets dry for the holidays, but it worth it. I'm really excited to begin my "photographic" journey... tho' it's pretty hard learning all the stuff alone, but I hope I'll manage. :) |
